Live vs. Cured — What's the Difference?
Cannabis extracts come in two main types depending on when the plant material was processed.
Live Concentrates
Made from fresh-frozen plant material. When we harvest, those plants go straight into a freezer before any drying or curing. That preserves the full cannabinoid and terpene profile you'd find in a living plant — a fuller high, more complex flavor, brighter color.
Live products are generally what experienced concentrate users prefer.
Cured Concentrates
Made from dried and cured plant material. The terpene and color profile is different — more mellow on the flavor side, slightly different effect. Still excellent product, just a different process.
At Primal, our live products come from outdoor and cured from indoor.

The "O" in rosin stands for solventless — no chemicals used.
The "E" in resin means it was extracted with a solvent.

Processing Philosophy
We started processing in 2019 with two large CO2 extractors. After running them for a few years, we decided CO2 wasn't producing the quality we wanted. We sold that equipment, held our existing inventory, and refocused.
During that transition we built out our pre-roll program and began constructing our hash rosin setup, which came online in summer 2025. We then started our next phase of hazardous extraction.

Where Our Material Comes From
Outdoor = Live Products
Our outdoor harvest is harvested fresh and immediately frozen. This becomes our live concentrate line — live resin, live rosin, and fresh-frozen distillate.
Indoor = Cured Products
Our indoor flower is dried, cured, and then processed into cured concentrates and used in our pre-roll program. Different process, different profile.
On Testing
We don't fake our numbers. That sounds like it should go without saying, but in this market, it doesn't. We use labs we've specifically chosen because we believe they're running honest tests. Sometimes the THC numbers come back lower than we'd like. We report them anyway.
When you buy Primal product, the label is accurate.

We're open to conversations about processing services for other Oklahoma growers — specifically ethanol splits for cultivators who want their material turned into distillate.
